The Barrancs gully, oriented north-east, is an example of a well-structured gully. During the Little Ice Age it reached a length of 1,340 m, practically joining the Tempestats glacier, which at the beginning of the 20th century was 835 m long. Its 57-hectare extension made it the 10th largest glacier in the Pyrenees. In 1986 it occupied areas outside the circle, with a length of 500 m, under the summit of Aneto.
Despite the fact that the Barrancs glacial gel mass is the highest in the Serralada after Aneto, in 2006 it lost its activity and was declared a glacier in 2021. At present, the sum of its two fragments maintains it as the 4th most extensive gelera in the Pyrenees.
