The Perdiguero Glacier was located in the cirque on the north-northeast slope of Perdiguero Peak (3,222 m), the highest peak in the massif. During the Little Ice Age, it covered an area of 12.5 ha and reached a maximum length of 225 m.
In 1982-1985, it was classified as a glacier, split into two fragments, the westernmost of which, located in the Collado Superior de Literola sector, disappeared in 2005. The second fragment remained almost permanently covered by a snowfield and well protected from solar radiation. Despite its small size, it retained a significant mass of blue ice until 2012, becoming residual in 2017. The Perdiguero glacier disappeared completely in 2022.
