The extinct Graoués glacier is one of 13 glaciers catalogued in the French sector of the Perdiguero Massif. Nine of them are located beneath the ridges that stretch for almost 5 km, linking the 2,942-metre-high Mail Planet peak with the 3,107-metre-high Lézat peak.
During the Little Ice Age, the Graoués Glacier covered an area of 13.5 ha and its maximum length and width were slightly over 400 m. Located in the shade between the peaks of Mail Planet (2,942 m) and Mail Barrat (2,986 m), its small cirque is closed off by a visible moraine high above Lac Charles (2,201 m).
At the end of the 1980s, in the form of a snowfield, it occupied a significant part of the cirque. In 2012, it was found to have split into three units. In 2017, it was classified as residual, becoming extinct in 2023.
