25) Molseret

The so-called Eastern Helero of Molseret occupied a small area on the southern slope (Estós Valley), at the base of the western ridge that links the summit of Perdiguero with Portillón de Oô (2,913 m). It was accompanied by three snowfields, two to the west and one further east, which were no longer visible in 2006. In November of the same year, the ice field was classified as residual and became completely extinct in 2012.
The permanence of the ice field and snowfields despite their unfavourable orientation was possible because they receive significant accumulations of snow from slides originating on the upper walls and corridors. In most years, the snow does not last throughout the year, and only during years of heavy snowfall is a snowfield observed at the site of the former ice field.
