Like those of La Múnia, Gavarnie, Vignemale and Balaitus, the Néouvièlle – Pic Long Massif is part of the Pyrenees National Park. It is located in its entirety in Occitanie territory. It includes in its various sectors a group of peaks of over 3,000m. The highest peak is the Pic Long (3,192 m), and among the other summits related to glacial ice, we can highlight Campbieil (3,173 m), Badet (3,160 m), Néouvielle (3,091 m), Maubic (3,058 m), Trois Conseillers (3,039 m), Turon de Néouvielle (3,036 m) and Ramougn (3,011 m).

Extension of the glacier during the Little Ice Age
With 5% of the Pyrenean ice, the Néouvielle Massif was the seventh largest glacier in the Pyrenees during that period.

Current position in the presence of glacial ice
Despite its altitude and name linked to ice, Néouvièlle occupies the last place among the Pyrenean massifs that still have glacial ice, reduced to two small ice fields.
